e{Design} Tuesday - A Cozy English Cottage Living Room

I probably say this with every new design, but I think this one is my favorite yet!

I created this cozy living room for a family member who lives in a log home, so this particular design presented some super fun and exciting challenges. There are two wood-paneled walls in the space and two that are drywall that need a new coat of paint. The floors are hardwood and the trim is wood also, so this space needed a design that was going to compliment all of that wood while still providing balance. I knew immediately that the log home lent itself to an English cottage vibe, and the client was excited to bring that style to this space.

The client's favorite color is purple, which can be an exceptionally challenging color to design around. Purple isn't exactly "trendy" at the moment, but I think this design incorporated the client's taste in a way that is very "now". I loved pairing shades of lavender with sage green. If I'm being completely honest, I am so in love with this sofa, and this color palette, that I'm even considering using it in my own home!
